The Jungfrau Ski Touring Week offers a unique opportunity to experience the most famous peaks of the Bernese Oberland on skis – including the Mönch, Gross Fiescherhorn, Gross Wannenhorn, and as the ultimate highlight, the Finsteraarhorn, the highest summit of the Bernese Alps.
This intensive five-day ski touring week is perfect for experienced ski tourers with glacier knowledge who seek true alpine challenges – all guided by a certified IFMGA mountain guide.
Day 1 – Start at Jungfraujoch and Climb Mönch (4,107 m)
Meet in Grindelwald, ascend to Jungfraujoch (3,454 m)
Equipment check
Climb the airy snow ridge of Mönch – an ideal start
Descent to Mönchsjoch Hut (3,658 m) for overnight stay
Day 2 – Fiescher Saddle & Gross Fiescherhorn (4,049 m)
Early start over the Fiescher Saddle (~3,900 m)
Ascent of the Gross Fiescherhorn, a striking 4000er with a wild north face
Ski descent over the Walliser Fiescherfirn to Finsteraarhorn Hut (3,048 m)
Day 3 – Reserve Day with Alternative Peak Wyssnollen (3,596 m)
Flexible day for rest, weather buffer, or optional summit tour
Possible climb of Wyssnollen or Agassizhorn – rewarding peaks with impressive descents
Preparation for the highlight of the week: Finsteraarhorn
Day 4 – Ascent of Finsteraarhorn (4,274 m)
Today’s highlight: Finsteraarhorn, the highest peak of the Bernese Alps
At 4,274 m, one of the most alpine-demanding 4000ers
Ascent via Hugisattel and combined snow-rock ridge – a supreme high alpine experience
Ski to Hugisattel, then summit with rope and crampons
Summit views from Mont Blanc to Tödi – unforgettable
Descent and ski back to Finsteraarhorn Hut
Day 5 – Gross Wannenhorn (3,906 m) & Descent to Fiesch
Final summit: Gross Wannenhorn with open views over the Rhone Valley and Aletsch region
Ascent over Wannenjoch Glacier – last glacier stage of the week
Long, scenic ski descent via Fiescher Glacier
Tour ends in the valley at Fiesch – departure
Target Group
Experienced ski tourers with excellent fitness and alpine skills
Confident skiing in open terrain, knowledge of ZS-level ski tours
Proficiency with crampons, ice axe, rope, and glacier travel
Guided by a certified IFMGA mountain guide handling planning and leadership
